Is the Super Bowl overrated and have the commercials appropriate for minors?

We were watching the Super Bowl today with a bunch of minors and there were commercials that should have not been played because of the minors watching. I think football is slowly loosing its attraction..Especially with the more educated I have found.

It’s not really overrated. Those commercials were fine. They won’t effect any minor by seeing them.

Heck, she was no Nancy Pelosi with her old, sagging #$%^………now, see this is just an example of how the ad companies influences young minds and make them say stupid things. I sorry about this but many of those commercials should not be played around us young people.

It took a while because you do not have good odds to unlock it. Just keep playing games with the Madden Challenge on and purchase Madden Cards with the tokens you earn and eventually you will get it.

The game would go on as scheduled. It would be impossible to change the venue between the Conference Championship game and the Super Bowl.

In addition, the game site is awarded to the city, not the team.

They get to play at their home stadium and get a distinct home field advantage. The Super Bowl takes a whole year to plan and they wouldn’t even consider moving it unless it was simply impossible to play a game somewhere. Like if there were some kind of natural disaster that devastated a stadium or the local infrastructure.

    • Will 12:09 am on February 7, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Nothing would change. This has actually happened twice before, just not at the actual home stadium: the Rams at XIV (played at the Rose Bowl), and the Niners at XIX (played at Stanford Stadium). At the first game, the Rams were allocated their team’s share of the tickets *plus* the home team’s share, and the Steelers complained that amounted to favoritism. So the Niners did not receive the customary 10% of the tickets for the home team.

Just so long as you have the food groups represented, you’ll be good to go. For instance, the veggies (carrots, celery, zucchini, etc. and naturally their dip), meats (cocktail weiners, mini meatballs, chicken wings, etc.), and a fruit plate.

Or, for a very simple dinner, you could prepare ahead of time the following:

      Ground beef with taco seasoning
      shredded lettuce
      diced tomatoes
      diced yellow onions
      diced green onions
      shredded cheese
flat flour tortillas (heat between paper towels in the microwave on a plate)
refried beans (zap in the microwave to reheat)
      sliced black olives
      Sour cream
Guacamole or sliced avocado (if sliced avocado – do just before eating)

Place them all in individual bowls on your table and let everyone put on their “Taco Salad” whatever they want. They can take their plate – filled – and camp out in front of the TV to watch the game.

      Enjoy!!

Ok, Dinner out of Appetizers? Got it but it depends on what appetizers you have or had….hahaha, once the crowd has left! Everyone has some variation of chips and dip, right? May I suggest using the dip for a salad dressing if it’s lighter then crumble the chips onto your left over Chili for a crunchy baked topping? Heck, if you had any sort of cheese dip, throw that onto your Chili as well, what a treat? Did you have chicken wings? hamburgers, hot dogs………….you can always have a buffet night, let the kids and spouse pick and choose what they want right off the pan, once you have re-heated everything? I wish I knew what appetizers you had to give you a full dinner menu to serve your family, but this is what I have for the moment! Happy Sunday!

      That’s what we’re doing…
Here’s what I have in mind:

      Cream Cheese Cracker Spread:
Scallions, chopped black olives, cream cheese, cup grated cheese, dash garlic powder, dash onion powder, dash white pepper, dash salt. Blend together. shape into ball. serve with crackers. Optional: roll in chopped nuts.

      Chicken Wings

We’re all about easy! I buy the best sauce I can find for the flavor I want (terriaki, BBQ, etc.), then put the wings and the sauce in the crock pot until done (about 4-6 hours). If they’re done sooner, I turn the crockpot to ‘warm’ and let them simmer. Yum!

This is the best and easiest dip recipe, and people always rave! I tell them it’s really hard to make (lol):

      Cream Cheese Dip

2 large blocks of cream cheese
1 large jar Pace picante (medium)-use most of the jar

Soften cream cheese and mix with hand mixer until smooth. Add picante and mix with hand mixer. Leave in frig for a few hours to blend flavors. Serve with tortilla chips.

I know it seems too simple to be great, but it is!

Crab Dip is easy and very good.

      1pkg Softened Cream Cheese
      2 Tbsp Minced Onions
      1/3 C. Bottled Chili Sauce
      1 Can of Crab meat
      Parsley Flakes to Garnish

Mix onion with cream cheese and spread on serving plate. Top with chili sauce. Sprinkle rinsed drained crabmeat on sauce & garnish with parsley flakes. Serve with Ritz crackers.

Takes about 5 minutes to put together .. and is always a hit!

      This is also great!

      Buffalo Chicken Dip
2 (5 ounce) cans chicken, drained
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
      1 cup ranch dressing
      3/4 cup red hot sauce
shredded cheddar cheese (you decide the amount)
–Beat cream cheese, ranch dressing, and red hot sauce. Fold in shredded chicken. Spread mixture into pie plate sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Add cheddar to top and bake an additional 10-15 minutes. *Serve with fritos or tortilla chips*

Here’s my no fail, always asked-for nacho dip. When it’s heated through, put it on warm or low, or unplug for a short time if it’s too hot. Everyone raves about this:

1 1/2 pounds ground beef, browned
      1 can cream mushroom soup
      1/4 cup butter
      2 lb Velveeta, cubed
2 cups Pace Chunky Salsa, (medium is our favorite, mild or hot if you like)
      3 Tbsp Chili Powder

Put all into crock pot. Cook on low 1-1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with tortilla chips. Yummy!

This is the newest addition. The author says your guests will lick the bowl. With an endorsement like that, how can I pass up trying this one?

I’m also thinking about little smokies wrapped in refrigerated biscuit mix and served with spicy mustard.

      Probably also veggies and dip.
