Why Are Catholics Beguiled And Bedazzled By The Phony Rituals And Ceremonies That Go On In Their Churches?

I mean, I can see how those tricks would work on ignorant sheep farmers and bog cutters in the Middle Ages but not people in the modern era for crying out loud! What the hell is wrong with them???

They were thinking of rolling around in the aisles but really didn’t have the floor space for that, so they kept to the old ones.

ROFLMAO, Oh that’s a real classic Des, your best to date I would say, Thank you but to answer it I think the catholic church lost over half its devotees when they changed from latin because people did see it as medieval claptrap for the first time

Desiree, Catholics did not fool anyone in yesteryear anymore then they do today. What do you think the reformation was all about ? Much of what Catholics practice is completely unbiblical and totally rejected by today’s modern Christians. God bless. .

Nothing phony about the Mass. It’s all genuine and it is the highest possible form of worship because all we do is as Christ Himself commanded.

We like rituals and we like ceremonies. You are either mad or jealous that we have them. You mean, that every Christmas, your family has NO traditions that they do (or anything else for example)?

Actually I prefer Catholics as opposed to other branches of Christianity. Orthodox Christians as well :)
(I found the majority of Catholics don’t go around attacking others)

It’s not just Catholics. We Episcopalians are also beguiled and bedazzled by our phony rituals and ceremonies. If you are going to be insulting, you need to be thorough.

Desiree, have you ever actually been to a Catholic Mass? Do you realize the ritual of the Mass is directly from the bible, and Christ, himself whether you believe or not performed the Mass, and it is also reminiscent of a Jewish service because it is a continuation of the Jewish faith? All the Mass is, is one big prayer to God and in that prayer Christ our Lord and God comes down on the Altar to be with His people and with Him all the Angels and Saints in Heaven come down too. He gives Himself to us again and again in the Mass, whether you believe or not, that is what we believe, that is why we worship with rituals and ceremonies.
The Protestants have hollow services the Catholic Mass has the fullness of Christ our Lord.
It is a matter of faith, a matter of hope in the word of God and a matter of love for our Almighty Creator. That is why.
You tell me what is wrong with us.
      Love and God bless you,
      Kate

The Church proclaimed the Gospel for two millennia; the Church gave us Sacred Scripture; the Church defined the dogma of the Trinity; the Church defeated the heresies of Arianism, Pelagianism, Gnosticism, Marcionism, Sabellianism, and Manichæanism; the Church has produced thousands and thousands of Saints — from St. Francis to Maximillian Kolbe to Thérèse de Lisieux; the Church is the greatest caregiver of the poor in the world; the Church has built hospitals, orphanages, schools, and soup kitchens all over this planet; the Church cares for one out of four of the world’s AIDS patients; the Church is the single greatest defender of life — all life — in the entire world
The Church proclaims not only did Messiah come in the first century, but that He comes at each and every Catholic Mass — in the flesh (it is Protestants who deny this!) — and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead? People who spew venom at the Catholic Church need to think long and hard about what they are doing, because to slander the Catholic Church is to blaspheme the Body of Christ. If you are one of these people, pray about it, ask yourself why you believe what you believe, and find out for sure whether or not things you believe about the Catholic Church are true, using unbiased resources (including true Catholic ones). Please.

Why would you ask a question so full of criticism of others – are you struggling with your own beliefs? Most of my Catholic friends seem to appreciate the tradition and try to apply reason to what they encounter either way. If you enter into a personal discussion, I’d drop the nasty descriptors and hope for some insightful answers.

Why can’t people just live and let live? Even if you do not understand why, they are meaningful to the people who practice them. Assuming you are an atheist, you do know what your doing is the same thing as religious dogma or street preaching. You are no better than them. Everyone deserves freedom of beliefs and a right to not have them ridiculed.

      1) Why are Catholics beguiled and bedazzled by the phony rituals and ceremonies that go on in their churches?
      a) Who told you that, and why were you so gullible as to believe them?
      b) What makes a ritual “phony”? Don’t you think they all believe it?
      2) I mean, I can see how those tricks would work on ignorant sheep farmers and bog cutters in the Middle Ages
That being the case – you must realize that your initial statement will not “work on” anyone “in the modern era.”
      3) What the hell is wrong with them?
My guess: they have researched and evaluated the source of their beliefs more thoroughly than you have yours.

I like Catholics and all faiths but I think it gives them a sense of comfort and security.Like if your insecure about your life and not sure of your ability to make life choices,it gives them a sense of security to say that they put their life in Gods hands. The rituals of the Catholic church for instance confirms that they have something more powerful to lean on than themselves. Most importantly,They have a place to worship with others. That is the best part of it.

Judge not, lest ye be judged. Why look down one some just because they believe differently from you. Does any one physically harm you by practicing their faith.. No.. Its pointless to go around insulting others. I converted from Protestantism to Catholicism, personally I enjoy & get more out of Catholicism.
But to each their own. May God bless you

since your time’s already up, I’d suggest uninstalling, cleaning up the drive — including the game’s folder and any registry traces of the game — then defrag and reinstall. That’s what I do. (But then I have too much time on my hands.) Then, when you’re playing, just don’t close the window (exit) and you can play for as long as you want. I discovered this with Fairy Godmother Tycoon. But then, not all companies are that generous.
You could also find the serial # for it.
