Richard Deitsch: CBS Expecting Record Viewers for Super Bowl
There was a moment during last week’s Super Bowl conference call that revealed the prevailing mood at CBS Sports these days. Asked by a reporter for the network’s coverage plans for Sunday’s broadcast, CBS News and Sports president Sean McManus responded like a man holding pocket aces in a Texas hold ‘em game. “This year we’re going to do nothing interesting or surprising,” McManus cracked. “It …

How to Reverse The Effects Of Phosgene Oxime?

    No one’s hurt, don’t worry.

    • Josh 12:47 am on January 26, 2010 Permalink | Reply

There is no antidote to phosgene oxime poisoning it can be treated better on some body parts better then others so it depends on the body area of exposure the best way to treat it if skin or eyes have been exposed to it is to use water on the victims eyes and skin because phosgene oxime dissolves in water other then that there is not much else you can do. But exposure to it is very unlikely as it is a chemical warfare agent and not used in industry.
      Hope this answers your question

Exposure To Phosgene In A Pregnant Mother Cause Delayed Development In Child?

My sister’s child is 1 year old and not crawling, walking, standing. Her a/c went out when she was pregnant and Freon and phosgene were in her home. They replaced the unit, but stayed in the home….Her child looks normal and healthy, but does not seem to be meeting her milestones.

freon, chlorofluorocarbon not the best to breath, who really knows of the long term exposure risks. short term I would not sweat it. but the phosgene? freon needs to come into contact with a flame or hot metal to produce the horrible phosgene gas. the gas is is inhaled and produces hydrochloric in the lungs and carbon monoxide. you know there are some pretty bad chemicals but with the little bit of exposure I dont really see any developmental problems occurring. And the effects from the chemicals should be very noticeable. I could be wrong here but the phosgene would make you choke real good. And the freon would make you pretty high. with both of these chemicals at the level in which damage would be happening the effects would be very noticeable. If your worried about the child try some stimulation to maybe get the child going a little. TUBBIES! later

These gases are not very good for you; I’m surprised your sister was not advised to leave. I trust your sister has a pediatricin who is following the child and can advise. Beware of shark lawyers who say “of course” so they can sue someone, get some money from someone to get the lawyer off their backs, and then keep 1/3 of it.

It’s not just Catholics. We Episcopalians are also beguiled and bedazzled by our phony rituals and ceremonies. If you are going to be insulting, you need to be thorough.

Desiree, have you ever actually been to a Catholic Mass? Do you realize the ritual of the Mass is directly from the bible, and Christ, himself whether you believe or not performed the Mass, and it is also reminiscent of a Jewish service because it is a continuation of the Jewish faith? All the Mass is, is one big prayer to God and in that prayer Christ our Lord and God comes down on the Altar to be with His people and with Him all the Angels and Saints in Heaven come down too. He gives Himself to us again and again in the Mass, whether you believe or not, that is what we believe, that is why we worship with rituals and ceremonies.
The Protestants have hollow services the Catholic Mass has the fullness of Christ our Lord.
It is a matter of faith, a matter of hope in the word of God and a matter of love for our Almighty Creator. That is why.
You tell me what is wrong with us.
      Love and God bless you,
      Kate

The Church proclaimed the Gospel for two millennia; the Church gave us Sacred Scripture; the Church defined the dogma of the Trinity; the Church defeated the heresies of Arianism, Pelagianism, Gnosticism, Marcionism, Sabellianism, and Manichæanism; the Church has produced thousands and thousands of Saints — from St. Francis to Maximillian Kolbe to Thérèse de Lisieux; the Church is the greatest caregiver of the poor in the world; the Church has built hospitals, orphanages, schools, and soup kitchens all over this planet; the Church cares for one out of four of the world’s AIDS patients; the Church is the single greatest defender of life — all life — in the entire world
The Church proclaims not only did Messiah come in the first century, but that He comes at each and every Catholic Mass — in the flesh (it is Protestants who deny this!) — and will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead? People who spew venom at the Catholic Church need to think long and hard about what they are doing, because to slander the Catholic Church is to blaspheme the Body of Christ. If you are one of these people, pray about it, ask yourself why you believe what you believe, and find out for sure whether or not things you believe about the Catholic Church are true, using unbiased resources (including true Catholic ones). Please.

Why would you ask a question so full of criticism of others – are you struggling with your own beliefs? Most of my Catholic friends seem to appreciate the tradition and try to apply reason to what they encounter either way. If you enter into a personal discussion, I’d drop the nasty descriptors and hope for some insightful answers.

Why can’t people just live and let live? Even if you do not understand why, they are meaningful to the people who practice them. Assuming you are an atheist, you do know what your doing is the same thing as religious dogma or street preaching. You are no better than them. Everyone deserves freedom of beliefs and a right to not have them ridiculed.

    • Anonymous 11:08 pm on January 25, 2010 Permalink | Reply

      1) Why are Catholics beguiled and bedazzled by the phony rituals and ceremonies that go on in their churches?
      a) Who told you that, and why were you so gullible as to believe them?
      b) What makes a ritual “phony”? Don’t you think they all believe it?
      2) I mean, I can see how those tricks would work on ignorant sheep farmers and bog cutters in the Middle Ages
That being the case – you must realize that your initial statement will not “work on” anyone “in the modern era.”
      3) What the hell is wrong with them?
My guess: they have researched and evaluated the source of their beliefs more thoroughly than you have yours.

I like Catholics and all faiths but I think it gives them a sense of comfort and security.Like if your insecure about your life and not sure of your ability to make life choices,it gives them a sense of security to say that they put their life in Gods hands. The rituals of the Catholic church for instance confirms that they have something more powerful to lean on than themselves. Most importantly,They have a place to worship with others. That is the best part of it.

Its pointless to go around insulting others. I converted from Protestantism to Catholicism, personally I enjoy & get more out of Catholicism.

since your time’s already up, I’d suggest uninstalling, cleaning up the drive — including the game’s folder and any registry traces of the game — then defrag and reinstall. That’s what I do. (But then I have too much time on my hands.) Then, when you’re playing, just don’t close the window (exit) and you can play for as long as you want. I discovered this with Fairy Godmother Tycoon. But then, not all companies are that generous.

Philippines – Secretary Gonzales Calls On Filipinos To Coordinate And Create Knowledge On Climate Change

Secretary of National Defense Norberto Gonzales insistently earnestly called on all Filipinos to get organized and begin consciousness on climate change and global warming to respond to any environmental crises.

Gonzales who is concurrently the National Security Adviser issued this insistent call during a consultation dialog with the association of professional organizations and regional executives of national government agencies at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu recently.

Gonzales shared his “heartaches” to the group on the enormity of the task and the political cost of relocating hundreds of thousands of families that were victims of typhoons “Ondoy” and “Pepeng”.

He said, on his first briefing and meeting at the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) as the DND secretary, he met with the various sectors including the scientific community to understand what really is going on with the environment and to influence his directions on how to manage the NDCC.

According to Gonzales, even with the advancement of technology and hard researches scientists are saying it’s difficult to accurately predict changes in climate, typhoons and floods.

“The scientists are saying that climate is changing very fast, that its resulting impacts are already with us,” Gonzales stressed.

“I am scared. The impact of national calamities is getting difficult and typhoons are now misbehaving,” Gonzales added.

He further said that “we build cities and communities without thinking how to manage the environment, sewerage system and waste disposal.

The recent typhoons and floods in the country showed this wanton neglect. The rivers were blocked with all kinds of waste and informal settlers at riverbanks that restricted the water flow, he added.

“Our challenge now is how to permanently move more than 70 thousand families that were victims of typhoons and how to sustain our response to these crises,” Gonzales said.

He said that the recent calamities created good in Filipinos, a lesson to ponder on. “There was an outpouring of help from all over. But we don’t have a system on where and what to give and how to help,” the NDCC secretary lamented.

“Sad it may seem but we are not ready how to respond to crises,” he stressed.

Gonzales then asked to the various sectors that attended the dialog to help inform “our people of the true state of climate change and global warming and to get organized, practice selective national mobilization and talk more on environment protection.”

“Our religion, culture and faith, a tremendous asset of our people that will propel us to become a first world country, and that should be our battle cry!” Gonzales concluded.

With this, all line agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations and local government units are enjoined to participate in the observance by conducting activities that can help drum up public awareness on global warming and climate change such video showing, symposia, hanging of streamers/banners and others.
